This is too funny!

I couldn't stop laughing! Ellie and Ollie are just like these two (minus the weird teeth showing thing).

as of late...

The windows have been installed for a few weeks now, so we have been doing a lot of this...

As of today all five windows are finished on the inside. I have big plans to knock out the outside trim this week. Digging deep for some motivation on this. :)

It's been real, but it hasn't been real fun (says the black dog)...

I came across an April 2008 issue of Cottage Living at my moms. :::tear:::: That was my favorite magazine. I was reimbursed when they folded--I think I had a subscription until like 2012 or something ridiculous. RIP cottage living (and Domino).  ha!

do the shuffle

On the way home from Houston, I decided to jet on over to Washington County and check out my old stomping grounds (ha!).

I stopped by Nellie's and visited with LaNell.  I worked at Nellie's for a year or so my freshman/sophomore year in college. This was my favorite job. It's much different today. Today it 'offers eclectic-western fashion with a modern twist'. When i worked it had everything from Flax to antiques and great jewelry. Much better back then, but that's just my opinion. :)

LaNell, who is also an artist, opened Alamo Gallery across the street. Her friend Martha, who is originally from Louisiana, runs Alamo Gallery. Martha and LaNell are hilarious. LaNell raises miniature donkeys and Martha raises water buffalo--her heard is up to 43!

I was introduced to Leon and Molly Bee Collins, artist from Navasota. The father-daughter duo make some pretty cool paintings. Their art is mostly of pikininis and alligators and such. Apparently they just go out and  find scrap wood and paint on it--no canvas. Which shocked me because it looks like it's painted on canvas. I'm terrible at describing things! ha!

Brenham has some pretty cute shops. I spotted this cute slip cover. If i ever get into sewing (on my new sewing machine!) I'd like to try to make some of these..

What i really wanted to do was try to see my old landlord, Mr. Glenwood. This man. I love. LOVE HIM.
I didn't see him, but i drove by my old house. Which happens to be one of my favorite places i have ever lived. I wish i had a photo of him. He is in his mid-late 70's and works on the farm which surrounds the house.  When i lived there he would stop by the house when i got home from work and we would have a few beers together on the porch.  His wife, Betty, was a character too. She carried around their lhasa apso, Katy, on her hip. When she had to work in the antique shop downtown, she would send Katy to work with Mr. Glenwood.  He would ride his tractor around while the dog sat in the truck. I loved those people and that spot of land (100 or so acres).

sprucing things up.

Just testing things out!
